We went to Burnhouse as a celebration for our Grandad's birthday. I was expecting basic, home cooked food - nothing fancy - but was very disappointed by what we received. This is a 3 star hotel, so i can only assume people complaining expect a 5 star hotel (its not and doesn't claim to be). Great little countryn house hotel small, cosy and clean. We went to the Burnhouse Manor Hotel for Christmas dinner. The standard was very poor. The food did not meet the description on the menu i.e. the Cream of Harvest vegetable soup had veg and water in it and not a lot else.
