I stayed 3 nights prebooked in early December 2009 and found the Centara Karon Beach probably the worse hotel I've stayed in for many years. The management were inflexible and seemed more interested in extracting as many service charges or "fines" as possible. Their internet charge was 10 X the local cafe rate. The owner of this hotel is Australian and he is very friendly and helpful with advice for travel around Phuket. The standard room is small but it comes with cable, a/c and a hot shower....overall the rooms are very tidy and well maintained.
