Tuddenham Mill

We stayed at Tuddenham Mill last year but I've only just got round to writing a review. I have to say that personally, Tuddenham Mill wasn't for me. While the hotel is in a lovely building, it's in a rather characterless village (and the walk to the pub is along a very busy road with no footpath) - felt like... more

1st Place Newmarket Apartments

8 Jun 2009

An excellent place to stay - the apartments are spacious, modern, clean and furnished to a very high standard. They have everything you'd expect from a top hotel plus a lot more (i.e. an owner who cares about you getting the most from your stay). Great value for money when compared to other Newmarket accommodation. About a twenty minute walk... more

Prezzo - Newmarket

8 Jun 2009

I believe Prezzo is actually a chain and although I haven't eaten in any other of their restaurants, this one is lovely. We have eaten here a few times and the food has been consistently good and the service wonderful. They were very busy the second time but the atmosphere was still relaxed and inviting. more

Guests have everything they could possibly need to make the apartment their home! And the owner is so friendly, helpful, thoughtful. Great place, and surprisingly cheap for what you get. more

We visited Newmarket to attend a wedding at Swynford Paddocks and decided to stay at 1st Place Apartments, mainly because it was so reasonably priced. On arrival we were met by owner Joanne who couldn't have done more to help us. The apartment was beautiful and fully stocked with everything we could possibly want and more! Unfortunately, we didn't get... more

Garrads Boutique Hotel

I booked into the Garrads for Bank Holiday and had a great time both in Newmarket and at the hotel. The staff are very welcoming, the breakfast is excellant and the room was clean and well presented. I'll definitely book a return trip when I go up for the racing. Happy days. more

Garrads Boutique Hotel

I had a few doubts when I saw it from the road, but those vanished once I went inside. Very nice design and decor, fantastic bedrooms and the most welcoming and accommodating staff you could hope to find - they made you feel at home right from the start. I had a great night's sleep and the breakfast was spot... more

Went to a wedding in Newmarket and was recommended by the bride to stay with my three teenage children at the Coach House at Garrads. It was ideal a self contained house in the grounds where we just walked over in the morning for breakfast. The cook couldnt be better and the lemon pancakes were certainly home made and were... more

My boyfriend and I traveled from London to stay at the Tuddenham Mill over a recent Saturday night. After reading many of the reviews I was worried it wouldn't live up to expectations, but it did (and then some). We stayed in one of the Water Meadow Rooms. It was exactly as the pictures on their website appeared. Peaceful, quiet,... more

When we got to 1st Place were warmly welcomed by a lady named Joanne, who we later found out was the owner of these beautiful apartments, when we were shown to our apartment and settled in, we found everything we needed to make a Gin and tonic, right down to fresh lemon (nice touch), which after such a long trip... more

Rutland Arms Hotel

Stayed here for one night. Walked in to reception and no-one was there. Another guest came up to me and told me not to hold my breath as he had waited 40 mins for a member of staff to come to reception. Somebody did come about a minute later. However, I found the same thing when I went to eat... more

Rutland Arms Hotel

Had a brief but enjoyable overnight stay at The Rutland Arms. Expenses were paid on my behalf but from looking at the tariff in reception this is perhaps a slightly expensive hotel, which is part of the 'Oxford Hotels' Group, although if you are looking for character (I expect that no two rooms are the same) rather than standard box... more

My wife and I took advantage of their excellent Cozy Room offer, and stayed on 19th April 2009. We stayed in a Loft Suite. Spacious, and well set out. The room included complementary Jo Malone toiletries. The fridge was stocked with freshly squeezed orange juice, still and sparkiling water. Dinner was exquisite, and the cooked breakfast the following morning set... more

We had lunch, the place was empty it took ages for the food to come, and we only ordered, sandwiches and chips. Ants were running on the table, in the conservatory. The sandwiches were poor with supermarket packet type bread, the chips tasted like the fat should have been changed ages ago, and cheap tomato sauce. its a really nice... more

Like the last reviewer this has to be one of the worst places I have ever stayed in. Having been impressed by the website ( appearances can deceive) I booked at least 2 months in advance of our stay. On arrival I was informed that instead of the 2 twins that I had booked, we would have to break up... more
