What a fantastic hotel ,very clean, very modern in a great setting. My partner and I had a two day break here for my other halfs birthday. We certainly were"nt disappointed, our room was beautiful and spotless, the staff were very helpful and efficient. We know Newmarket quite well and decide to eat in the town which is only a ten... more
Unexpectedly sold my house and sought temporary accommodation whilst I looked around – booked into Bloodstock Barn after locating on Internet and kept fingers crossed. Brilliant in every way – accommodation newly built to an excellent spec. and beautifully fitted out – full English breakfast to die for or in my case something in between this and a Continental –... more
Spent a fantastic weekend at Bloodstock Barn at the beginning of March. Breakfast kept me going all day, the rooms have everything you need and more, including a four poster bed. We are going back again in a months time. The hosts, are very friendly and informative and the area is superb, even if you don't follow the horses. Thanks... more
We stayed here for one night recently to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday, a group of 7 of us, including one 2 year old. The hotel has something of a peculiar style about it - the reception area and the rooms are very contempary and styled, whereas the bar area and restaurant have a more classic, homely feel - but... more
I spent 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. The rooms and baths were clean and spacious, the showers hot, and the staff all very courteous and professional. There is ample, close parking and downtown Newmarket is within easy walking distance. The restaurant/pub offered a variety of meals at all times of the day and provided a relaxing space to unwind... more
I stayed at the hotel for one night in March 2008. It is hard to find as the postcode relates to a village some 5 or so miles away - so sat nav users beware. The hotel were not surprised when I told them of my difficulties finding them. The hotel has a strange look from the outside - lots... more
Have stayed here a couple of times now whilst on business trips, although this is not palatial and some of the rooms are in need of updating have rated above average because the atmosphere is very relaxed, the staff all very helpful, the breakfast is good and it represents better value when comparing with some of the larger chain hotels... more
Received a warm welcome from the reception staff. Room and bathroom both clean. Bed comfortable. Feather duvet and pillows, but option to change to synthetic. Probably easier to request this when booking. Excellent leisure facilities. The evening meal in the restaurant was very good - reasonable choice for a non-meat eater. Breakfast excellent. Would be happy to return to the... more
Stayed at Bedford Lodge for Valentines weekend (15th Feb - 17 Feb) and stay was comfortable but pricey, even though I had booked via Late rooms. Morning breakfast was really nice, as were the leisure facilities (swimming pool, sauna, solarium and steam room) that were included in the room rate. The room also had Molton Brown toilietries which my fiancee... more
Stayed one Monday night on Business, although the restaurant wasn't open, the bar menu was more than adequate. Very friendly and attentive staff, comfortable room, wireless internet, good breakfast, all in all a good experience and I would definately stay again. more
I agree with the previous reviewer that it is a nice hotel that shoudld be great. It lacks something that is hard to describe. The rooms are pretty much standard with tea/coffee making, good bathroom and comfy bed. We thought that what it needs is a proper lounge/bar area. It feels really rather cramped, so you can't relax properly in... more
The Rutland Arms... What used to be the shining light of Newmarket town centre, the must-be place to stay on racing days or for weddings, has now become a shadow of its former self. Don't get me wrong, it's certainly no dump, the rooms are still mostly clean and spacious, the staff are ok and reasonably helpful etc. - and... more
my wife and I arrived along with 8 friends on the evening of Saturday 22nd December as we had a function to attend at Newmarket racecourse. The room price for the double room was £80 and had been booked since September. We were asked to pay immediately upon arrival and were told we had been allocated room 30. We made... more
This is a small family run hotel were Kevin and Julie cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. We asked if we could check in before a wedding and get changed which was not a problem - providing that they know. Although they could not guarentee that our room would be ready one could be provided for us. however... more
we stayed overnight for a family party wonderful, quirky room, huge bathroom with sunken bath! very good breakfast a real treat more
We have just returned from a two night stay at the Bloodstock Barn in Ashley just outside Newmarket. You would be hard pushed to find a better B & B. Mary and Bruce the owners are so very hospitable they do everything possible to make you feel at home. They are lovely friendly people. The Bloodstock is only a short... more
We booked to stay at this B&B as we were off to the Races for the weekend, and after reading all the great reviews on TripAdvisor, thought it was worth seeing for ourselves - and it totally lived up to the hype! The owner was so helpful and chatty, the accommodation itself was beautifully decorated, really clean and tidy and... more
Bruce and Mary take care with every little detail - so thank you. All furnishings and the breakfast is of a very high standard. The location is beautiful and ideal for a break as well as when staying for the racing in Newmarket. Lots to see in Bury St Edmonds and Lavenham all around. Great eating places too. Liz and... more
Garrads was a wonderful place to stay for a short visit to Newmarket last weekend. Tricia the manageress was very helpful during the booking process & was very welcoming when we arrived. The hotel is very convenient for the town and only a short drive from the racecourse. The rooms are large & bright & decor very contemporary and finished... more
