I lived in Paris in 1994, and took a weeked trip to Chartres. What a beautiful town. But the cathedral was the centerpiece. The pink stone used to build it makes it very unique. We visited Chartres Cathedral on Dec. 8th 2009. It was a cold day and was cold and dark inside. The darkness allowed the beauty of the stained glass to be fully appreciated. The stainglass windows of Chartres cathdral are absolutely extraordinary, one of the world's wonders.
