Hotel Alessandro della Spina is a 3 star hotel, but it certainly doesn't lack in amenities. The rooms, whilst basic, were comfortable and clean, the breakfast was good (cold food only; cereal, yoghurt, biscuits, rolls, ham, cheese) and the service was friendly and helpful. Thought the hotel was really nice. Decor bit gaudy but everything clean and fresh. Even perfumed loo paper! Staff were really friendly. Offered a packed breakfast for the morning as we were leaving early for a flight. Bar staff good too, offered recommendations for where to eat (didn't take them up on it though so can't comment). We wanted to see the Tower of Pisa before moving on to Florence and could not find a central b&b for a reasonable price.
