“No frills four star”

This place does just the very bare minimum to be four star. The rooms look like a tawdry British seaside hostel with yellow and blue sea sheel friezes apinted around the wall with matching curtains. OK, it is a beach hotel and it is clean but everything is so spartan, down to the no frills single bottle of combined shampo/shower... more

Facilities, beach location and rooms were very good however, the hotel is let down by extremely poor service. Housekeeping was bad, ground maintenance bad, restaurants bad, hotel management was very bad. The room cleaners would arrive anytime between 9am and 5 pm – usually around 3 or 4. This was a problem when you consider their pool/beach towel policy. You... more

Booked through Classic Collection a bit on the pricey side but their service was 1st class. Went purely for a quiet relaxing holiday and we certainly got that! Flew to Funchal (Madeira) on First Choice A320 (Thomson flight). If you are over 5' 9" dont expect much leg room and the early morning 0650 flight with associated airline breakfast does'nt... more
