Quality Inn Porto

The Quality Inn is located on a square (Praca de Batalha) in the historic part of Porto. It's a few meters to the Sao Joao Theatre and a pleasant walking neighborhood. You can also take the nearby outdoor elevator down the cliffs and be at the riverfront stroll in 10 minutes. So it's a good location. The hotel is adequate,... more

Hotel is in a nice location over looking the sea. Check in was in a nice lobby with an efficent but not very friendly receptionist. Room was clean but basic and included TV hairdryer etc. View out window was of a wall but i'm sure a change to a sea view could be arranged. The bed was comfy and a... more

Ze Bota

A small restaurant in Central Porto with amazing food. Try "Bacalhau na Telha". And wines are really cheap here. The management decided to have less profit on wines so you will find good wines here that would cost at least twice as much in other restaurants. more

At he 6th of September 2008, I visited this restaurant and the meal was indeed very splendid. A 5 course meal with innovative and unusal combinations of taste, and the most perfect choice of wine to accompany the food. The staff has the best schooling in Portugal. Pricewise; 80 euro per person. The location is right by the Douro... more

I rated the hotel as "Above average" but I believe that if I had stayed there during the Summer months, It would have given it only "Okay, but some problems". I decided to write about them anyway. The interior of the hotel is very beautiful – the furniture and all the items. The room was very spacious and the location... more

This is a 4/5* Hotel at 3* prices. Everything about this hotel is superb, from the modern room/breakfast/free internet/helpful staff Whilst it may be a 15min walk to the waterfront this makes up for in quality. It is only 5euros should you want a taxi So impressed we have booked the same chain in Prague Enjoy more

The hotel is in the best position in Porto - right on the river front by a quiet square. Lots of local restaurants and bars also boat trips from right outside the hotel. We had room with balcony on 4th floor which was quiet and had the most comfortable bed ever!! Looking out across the river at night to the... more

Nice and pleasant place with gorgeous view of the river, the Arrabida and the Gaia. A fine lounge bar-cafe upstairs and an italian restaurant downstairs, close to the river level. Loved it. more

We stayed at the Tryp Porto Hotel during October this year. We found it very comfortable and clean. The room was modern and well looked after by the maid. The staff were friendly and helpful even though we only knew a little Portuguese. Breakfast is a good selection of cereals, fruit, bread and cakes and most days there was scrambled eggs... more

Residencial dos Aliados

This was a very good stay for a group of us for a weekend trip. As long as your expectations are set correctly, this property will be more than adequate. We paid €60 per night and this was purchased via Travelocity. This property is a pension. I don't know the exact definition of this but I would say it is... more

Only stayed at this hotel for one night ,due to a late landing. The hotel was clean, comfortable. and inexpensive. Would recommend and stay again. Although it's not far from the airport it's pretty difficult to find. You have to make sure you find the right exit otherwise you'll end up on the motorway. more

Very good, central position. Short walk from Metro, tram and tourist bus stops and all the shops. Rooms basic but clean and the rule about washing clothers in the rooms still applies. We highly recommend eating at the Guarany - ask for Alexandre Toreiro - he speaks perfect English, is extremely helpful and he will guide you through the menu... more

Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa

Positives: Very nice facility, rooms are top-notch. Breakfast (included) is terrific. Spa/gym are excellent. Negatives: Several miles from the "fun" part of town, the Sheraton is located in a business district away from the historic riverfront areas. While the price is not outrageous, it is on the high side, and budget-conscious travelers can find cheaper deals at other nice hotels... more

Pros: friendly and helpful staff, free parking, great breakfast with amazing views over Porto, comfortable rooms with great views as well, extremely cheap and unbeatable rates, quiet rooms Cons: a little old (but not a big deal), not really any bathroom ammenities, air conditioner barely works (got a little warm but it wasn't bad even in the height of summer),... more

I booked three nights in October at the Vila Gale in Oporto, as they had the cheapest rate compared to similar hotels during this time-frame. I fully agree with some other reviews that this hotel is not a 4-star. Summary: - the rooms definitely need an update. Furniture is old, the bathrooms were nice approx. 5-10 years ago. A/C/TV/Fridge worked... more

The hotel is in a good position, in a pleasant square, close to the main shopping area, the cathedral and the river. Our room overlooked the square but the double-glazing ensured it was quiet. Our original room had a double bed and was quite small. We had booked a twin room and the exceptionally pleasant reception staff changed us to... more

We were very pleased with our room, which looked out onto the street, had good light, had a nice balcony and was big enough. We arrived at night and the view out the balcony was so pretty with the old railstation building and the moon...that made it for me! Location is great...it's a short walk to the river, but a... more

Porto is an interesting place to see. Is a quiet old city with nice arhitecture. On the river shores are few terraces with a lovely view over the other shore where are a lot of Porto wine shops. A central located place in the middle of Porto,. The hotel is in a very nice building but inside it is rather old. Some improvements have been done. The street is very noisy and the windows are not sound proof. However, the room were clean and the staff was helpfull, the breakfast was poor. The location and price were excellent.... more
