This is a real gem. Situated in the market town of Tavistock about 40mins from Plymouth. The rooms are very well furnished and well kept. We had Christmas at the Bedfordl Hotel, Tavistock and it was all that we expected. The food was excellent and the young staff were so helpful and always had a smile. We would like to thank them all and wish they a Happy New Year. Mr and Mrs R C Gardner and Mrs C E Hellaby more

Agree with previous review, what could be a great place (lovely Georgian building) ruined by disinterested staff breakfast was mediocre. Go to Bob's East End Cafe in the Pannier Market if you want a cheap and cheerful (which you don't get here!) meal, or go to the East End Brasserie where for a bit more money you can sit by... more
