My first choice hotel was full and booked this hotel with some reservations given the reviews. I wasnt expecting much and the reviews were about right. it is not badly placed for the Stirling sights in fairness, but not the best hotel really. We arrived late so didnt experience dinner. We spent an entire day at Sterling Castle, arriving by train from Edinburgh is fast and convenient. The castle itself is a historic gem and the tours offered on site are highly recommended. The views of the surrounding countryside is also spectacular. You haven't been to Scotland if you haven't been to Stirling! The village around the castle is tidy,... more
