Hotel Biancaneve

3 of 5 stars
Geneva
20 Apr 2008

We spent two nights at the Biancaneve after the Easter week-end. The accommodations were very satisfactory: clean, functional, comfortable, and quiet (but the hotel was nearly empty). The hotel is within wallking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, and the old town. Breakfast was OK, but there was just a small quantity of ham and cheese, which was not renewed for... more

You could not ask for a warmer welcome - everything was organised for us from our transfer to our ski school and ski hire. The rooms were big and clean. Breakfast was very homely & dinner was as much homecooked food as you could manage. The hotel is perfect location for the evening and although a slight trek to Sportina... more

Stayed at the Stella Alpina for a ski holiday over Easter. The hotel was basic but comfortable with a great location about 3 minutes walk from the Clotes chairlift and about a 10 minute walk from the Sportinia chairlift. A bus stops right outside if you don't want to walk with your skis. The ski shop is next to the... more

This hotel would probably have been okay if you were expecting 2 star, but it certainly shouldn't carry a 3 star rating. Problems: Mattresses sagged horribly in the middle, forcing you to sleep in a deep hollow or balance yourself on the edge. Food was fine but the practice of spreading the evening meal over two hours or more doesn't... more

We stayed in a very large annex room right next to the hotel for which we paid an extra charge. It was well worth it as the room enabled us to spread out and feel very comfotable indeed. The hotel is not quite 'ski-in ski-out' although it is situated right at the bottom of the piste. Skiing home couldn't be... more

Grand Hotel Besson

This is a comfortable hotel with welcoming staff very close to the picturesque heart of Sauze d'Oulx. We particularly enjoyed the food which was generous and of a good quality. The hotel is well maintained as are the rooms. Leisure facility including salt water pool and fab outdoor hot tub appreciated after a day on the mountain. Found it hard... more

Stayed the the Miravalle hotel in February 2008 with a group of 47 people. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the centre, 10-12 minutes walk ...up hill..to the chairlifts or minute walk to the bus stop (which takes you to the chairlift). Rooms were avarage in size with a shower and were very clean and comftable.....the balcony rooms... more

We picked this hotel due to its location next to the Clotes ski lift, and the fact you can ski to your door. We checked the few reviews we could find online and everything seemed to look ok. The location was definately the best thing about this hotel. My room was an 80's throw back, which i would not have... more

We have visited Sauze D’Oulx for many years and this time stayed at the Florida Prata which is a small and friendly two star hotel located in the centre of the resort. The hotel has about 22 rooms which are kept extremely clean by a team of very willing and helpful staff. The beds are comfortable and our room had... more

Hotel Splendid

Pleasantly surprised by resort with decent snow, nice selection of runs on wide piests and few lift Q's. Generally very friendly and unstressed folk working the resort, especially when compared to French or Austrians. Hotel was OK. I've stayed in better and some much worse. Food was OK and occasionally very good. They don't like giving out tap water at... more

I spent a week at La Terrazza and overall found it to be an an excellent 3* star hotel. There are a few cons' but these are outweighed by the positives. La Terrazza's school report card would like something like this. Location: A+ Bedrooms: B Bathrooms: B- Bootroom: E Dinner: A Breakfast: F Cleanliness: B+ Staff: A In more detail:... more

I have travelled extensively throughout Europe, America, South America and South Africa and I would like to categorically state that I have never stayed in a worse hotel. The food is absolutely revolting.I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago with a large group and the food was so inedible each and every single one of us had to... more

Hotel Biacaneve is located just below the main square. It was a traditional style hotel with approx 15 rooms, separate dining room and combined long / bar. Being in the lower part of all be a small town did mean that it was a 10 minute uphill walk in the morning to the Clotes Lift but being a snowboarder this... more

Just back from Sauze D'Oulx and stayed in the Terrazza Hotel from the 27th Jan to the 3rd of Feb. Hotel was lovely, we had a great view of the mountains, staff were not that helpful though. Food was good, if not mind boggling the order in which the courses were served. The only real problem was that it is... more

The hotel overlooks a beautiful valley and on a sunny day it really is quite something. Stayed here last year and was excited to return. What a disappointment. The hotel was very quiet and there seemed to be some staff problems..no bar man for a start. So despite having a lovely homely bar area I literally had to go off... more

Just returned from a week in Sauze staying at the hotel Splendid. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill as others have mentioned but the hotel itself, the staff, the positioning relative to the slopes (but not the food) made up for it. We had very good conditions and, as the hotel had many little storage... more
