I laugh writing this because it appears that these days any old place can call itself an excellent hotel. What a joke, this place was falling apart, the rooms were extremely basic, the shower didn't even work and the general decor was horrible. Overall an expensive horrible hotel. Avoid this if you can. more

We arrived after a 460 mile journey, so were fairly tired. The greeting was friendly, the proprietor insisted on carying our cases from reception (I had laready carried them up the pouter stairs).
