My partner and I stayed at the Museum Hotel for 4 nights mid-week in July 2008. The rooms, whilst modern, were not functional to an adequate standard. The lights above the bed were not working. Tulsi is the place to go in Wellington for a good curry, however the staff there are notorious for trying to upsell the menu. We get it everytime, so if you are aware of this you can be firm with them - but I am sure a lot of people getting pressured into ordering things they don't really want and... more

We spent our 21st anniversary here at the end of a New Zealand trip. They upgraded our standard room to a premium suite (I think because the hotel was full--we didn't ask). WOW! It was gorgeous. Lovely park view (the views on the other side are lousy); fabulous pillows, comfortable king-sized bed, kitchen with everything (including dishwasher), dvd player. Everything... more
