The hotel is only a few hundred meters from the Octagon. This makes it a great base to explore the area. The staff were fine, and occasionally went out of their way to help you. My wife and I have just returned from a stay at the Arcadian Motel in Dunedin where we went to attend some of the Arts Festival activities.
