We stayed in our campervan at the Shining Star on a powered site and it was the nicest holiday park that we stayed in. The sites were gravel and a generous manicured lawned area was provided at both the side and the back of each site. Sites are backed by vegetation which adds privacy and shelter from the weather. Shining Star Beachfront Accommodation

We stayed here one night and were happy to have a cottage right on the beach (good walking beach), especially since there was a spectacular sunset after days of rain. Lodging was plain, but clean with a Murphy bed in common area. Hokitika center is a short drive away. Good stop along the way from Abel Tasman to Franz Josef. more
