Szentendre

Szentendre is a little old town on the west side of the Danube, a few miles North of Budapest with churches, museums, souvenir shops and restaurants. We travelled there by Hev (green surface train) from the Arpad-hid station (Buda side), Budapest. It takes about 30 minutes. I recommend a walk along the promenade of the town and watch the world... more

I went to Szentendre in February--the off season. If that's the off-season, I can't even imagine what this place is like at other times of the year. While it is an undeniably cute town, the whole place is so full of tourists that I started to feel like I was on a stage set rather than in a real town.... more
