This hotel has good bar, resturant and reception facitities, but the rooms need updating, bit basic and no shelves in bathroom for toiletries. Think they working through updating it at the moment. Staff very helpful. An ok hotel for the money. more

We hired a car from the centre of Kaunas from a firm - "fortuna" national - near the Hotel Metropolis in the centre of town- Donelaicio street 27 , just off Laisves Aleja. When I visited Palanga I enjoyed watching people make sandcastles using a sort of drizzle technique. It's very different from the bucket and spade method I'm used to! The sandcastles look very gothic at the end. more

Palanga is an administrative unit with it's own municipality - the only exception in Lithuania for a town with population of around 10,000. Palanga proper stretches for about 20 miles along the Baltic sea: from Karkle in the South to Butinge in the North. Local regulations prohibit building anything straight on the beach.
