I have been in Guatemala many times, for business reasons and i love this place so much!!! i recommend the carpaccio as a starter, followed by a oyster sauce meat or pink pepper sauce meat, and as dessert the delicious cheescake one!!! you just have to try it, I highly recommend this place. It is for all ages you can... more

Based on all the great reviews of Posada Belen Museo, I made reservations online . Our shuttle driver that brought us from Antigua to Guatemala City acted like he couldn't find the hotel, even though I gave him the address. He then took us to another hotel. When I called Posada Belen to tell them why I did not show... more

Posada Belen Museum hotel is a real gem in Guatemala city. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel is fascinating with its lovely decor and interesting museum artefacts. It also has its own restaurant and peaceful garden. Nilo and Juan made me feel very comfortable and as a solo female traveler I felt very safe here. The food... more

Howard Johnson Inn Guatemala City

I spent one night at this Hotel in July 2008. Just making a stop-over in Guatemala City, this Hotel was the cheapest option available near the airport among the ones offered by Expedia. The best point about this Hotel is that they offer free pickup and transportation at/to the airport. I found that very convenient and everything went well. For... more

This hotel is located in Zone 10 and is convenient to plenty of restaurants, shopping and nightlife. I had a chance to stay in an executive suite at this property in 2007 and really had a nice experience. This time, I got a room on one of the Elite Floors and had an even better experience. Having access to the... more

Guatemala City can be a bit daunting when you arrive so if it's a stop over this place is perfect. 100% perfect. The staff own the business here and up in Tikal and Antigua so you get that extra special care. We had flight problems and get this, they drove us around town to travel agents and helped us out... more

Otelito Season Hotel

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in August. Although located in the zona viva, which is the best zone to stay in, the hotel isn't great. The hotel website is not reflective of the hotel. The hotel rooms are not too clean, the hotel staff is not helpful (and some are quite rude) and the public areas are... more

Biltmore Express Hotel

The staff at the hotel are very nice and kind. However, the rooms have significant setbacks: 1) The towels were very dirty! One has, what I believe, is an old blood stain and the other one has like dirt tracks! 2) Bed covers were visibly dirty. Sheets were ok. 3) Rooms are quite basic and a bit old. There are... more

I learned to always trust the Marriott for their cleanliness as that's one of the bigest factors in choosing a hotel. 1st my gripes. Everything in the hotel is expensive. phone calls to the US were 3.99 a minute(after two days, I purchased a cell phone locally for US 30 dollars that included 100 any where minutes) and second, one... more

We spent the first night of our 8 day Guatemalan adventure at the Camino Real. It was the right choice for several reasons. First, our TACA flight from LA arrived in Guatemala City at around 7:30am and we were quite tired from the overnight flight. After quickly clearing customs, we arrived at the hotel around 8:30am. Our room was available... more

My daughter and i stayed an overnite, because we were there to see the her doctor, and she had stayed there before with my ex-husband and step-son, well we had a whole day to wait before our bus return to Belize, so we asked ifnwe can leave our luggage so that the hotel taxi takes us to the mall and... more

Stayed a couple nights at the Westin in Guatemala City. Very comfortable beds, good service, but rooms were a little small and musty. Food at the restaurants was overpriced and not particularly good. However, the hotel is in a nice area of town, and it is easy to walk to good restaurants. Overall, a nice hotel for the country, but... more

Told we would be picked up in car for $5US but when we arrived they charged us $10US. The dorm beds were meant to be $15US each (as on their website and confirmed by email), which is already crazily expensive for a hostel in Guatemala. When we arrived (at 9pm at night) they charged us $20US each which I thought... more

I stayed at the Westin Guatemala City for 7 days in July. I found the hotel to be mostly as advertised except with a 3 star plus category. As for its location, it is right in the middle of the best part of the city and within a few hundred yards of all of the other big hotels including the... more

The hotel was very big and across the street from a huge mall, which was convenient since I don't really like walking around Guatemala City (kind of shady). Being able to exchange money 24/7 was VERY convenient. Room service was very prompt. Otherwise, it was pretty much a normal hotel stay. more

Admittedly Guatemala City is not the bastion of luxury accommodations, but this Marriott does not even come close to the quality levels associated with your local Fairfield Inn, which is at the low end of Marriott's offerings. Located in an old, OLD cement building that Marriott "tries" to maintain. The old saying: "Trying to make a silk purse out of... more

I liked it here very much. The rooms that include the kitchenette are roomy; had a couch and two beds, as well as being very clean. Overall, it was a great experience. The restaurant next door (Casa Chapina) was excellent and reasonably priced. The only negative experience was that I thought the front desk people were a little aloof/unfriendly at... more
