Blue Nile Bar & Restaurant

The Blue Nile was a very popular destination for those stationed at Kagnew station. There was live music and lots of alcohol. There was also many ladies of the night who were interested in companionship. I can not remember anything about the quality of the food, but in all other aspects the Blue Nile was a valued part of Asmara. more

The hotel looks nice enough, apart from the gloomy reception, and the rooms are very pleasant. However, hot water is erratic at best and the service at breakfast is truly awful. Confirmed bookings are not worth the paper they're written on. You can be sent to another hotel, as we were half way through the stay, because of over-booking. Just... more
