The Monastery of Geghard

4 of 5 stars
Moscow, Russia
3 Dec 2009

Geghard monastery is half built from large basalt stones and half-carved into the rock. But once inside, you can't tell where one part ends and another starts - all chambers have enough space and are decorated in the same manner. Stone carvings inside are beautiful - birds and animals, pomegranate and floral motifs, people and khachkars. Katogike, the main church... more

Apart from the front desk staff and it's location, everything else was bad or even I can say very bad however the rates were extremely high! more

Everything was fine.I really enjoyed my stay at hotel Aviatrans. Most of all I liked the reception stuff-girls.They are very cheerful, kind and always ready to help everybody in everything. I also liked the reservation manager -Lousineh,who answers very quickly to the letters.I have a little disappointment in breakfast and room cleanliness. I will advice those who are businessmen to go... more

Hotel Meg

20 Oct 2009

Hotel Meg is a small, centrally located, absolutely lovely hotel in Yerevan. It is much more comfortable, clean, and personal than any other hotel I have stayed in in Armenia. The breakfast, the modern design were wonderful. The people who worked at the Hotel were helpful in every way possible. It was immaculate from the floors to the bathrooms to the... more

Nice people, no water in the pool, small rooms, try to get rooms which don't show to the street because of noise ... simple, but really no highend hotel with reasonable prices. more

It is a nice place and the food was quite delicious. The night I was there all the other diners were men in good suits from embassies and international agencies - not an Armenian in sight! The prices may have something to do with it - quite expensive compared to other places I tried and a lot more than the... more

Europe Hotel

I stayed here for a couple of nights on a short business trip and was very satisfied. The location is great; 5 minutes from everything but still quiet. It is quite functional (not very stylish) but clean, efficient and friendly. They seem to do a lot of business with large groups of elderly but enthusiastic French tourists. This can make... more

Dolmama's

One of the best food I have tried in the region. It is really home made and looks that the chief is really capable. Atmosphere is also very nice. The service might be slow, but good food needs more time to prepare. You have to try "dolma" - it is excellent. I also tried different types of salads and main... more

Pros: Comfortable rooms and cottages, swimming pool Cons: No beach (after the lake level rise) Lack of training among waiters (e.g. usage of perfume during service) PS: This hotel is not in Yerevan! It is near the city of Sevan and at the lake Sevan shore. more

This Marriott Hotel is centrally located with stunning views over Republic Square. The hotel is comfortable and impressive but very expensive for it's location in a country such as Armenia. The hotel lacks a pool and I am pleased to say that the bill went on my expense account!! more

After a nightmare staying in a rental house in Yerevan, we decided to go to this small hotel that I had found in the net. We stayed there for 5 nights. Last week I spent a 2 day weekend at the hotel Meg to escape the Dubai heat. I stayed here based on the Trip Advisor reviews which I found to be accurate. I will try an add a couple items not mentioned: - The location is on a small alley nexy to the cascade and climbing the steps to the... more

Hotel Meg

We stayed in Hotel Meg 5 nights, and were very happy to have the complimentary airport pickup as a first time in yerevan can be a bit daunting. The exterior of the hotel is to say the least surprising and as mentioned in another review the aspect of the surrounding are a bit surprising. It is a typically yerevan residential... more

This is the first time I have posted a hotel review on Trip Advisor but feel compelled to do so after a string of dodgy and expensive hotel experiences in and around the CIS. Credit is definitely due to Hotel Meg which manages to get everything right. If, like my husband and I, you appreciate the simplicity of a good... more

Hotel Meg

We stayed in the Meg Hotel for three weeks in April 2009. This was our second visit to this hotel which we found to have very spacious rooms with excellent facilities and modern furniture - a real home from home. The staff were very helpful and provided a service which one can usually only find in very expensive hotels. This... more

This September, it'll be my third stay at Hotel Meg. Why? Here are 3 main reasons... comfortable, location and the friendly staff. Being a boutique hotel (I think the place has 7-8 suites) the personal attention you get there is incomparable to other hotels in Yerevan. more

There are many reasons to love Square One - the food is undeniably tasty, incredible service and the owners couldn't be nicer! You will not disappointed in any way.
