I was very apprehensive about staying in the Rixos President hotel after reading the reviews on tripadvisor however I was pleasantly surprised. Radisson SAS Hotel Astana

The Radisson SAS is a wonderful hotel... Pricey at over $500 per night, but the accomidations are wonderful... The fitness center attached to the hotel is also very nice. Definately look forward to going back again.. Only downside to all hotels in Astana is that they all use the chiller/boiler system.. You cannot control the temp in the room.. Only... more

This hotel looks nice from a distance but up close it is in a sorry state... the bathroom door did not shut, when I picked up the telephone in the bathroom it fell off the wall--- no nails etc. , just one thin wire holding it on , chairs were broken and it was a bit dirty.
