In comparison to other island destinations in Indonesia, I found this island retreat OK, but not exceptional. The rooms were large, clean and well-furbished, and the island maintained in relatively good condition. The food was so-so, good, fresh ingredients but not particularly well-prepared. This hotel was obviously a grand old lady - back in the day. I had no problem with my room, although it was due for refurbishment. The room was huge, the bathroom and shower enormous. In fact, everything about this hotel is grand, yet dated. It has the biggest, best outdoor pool of any hotel I have ever been in.... more
