Cajas is one of the best parks in Ecuador to walk in the Paramo (high altitude grassland ecosystem). It is easy accesible, it is good preserved and is simply very beautiful. This old family homestead in the colonial center has been delightfully preserved and turned into a small hotel catering primarily to retired expats. The included breakfast is scrumptious and the dining room a great place to network with others looking to retire in Cuenca. more
