I went to Nalanda because I've known about the place for years, have studied it a bit, and so had a cultivated interest you could say. For such people, who are particularly interested in Buddhist history or ancient Indian culture, it's worth the trip if you're in the neighborhood. Hotel Windsor is an excellent hotel for several reasons. Really, I give it 3.5 stars. The main pluses for me are: The rooms are spotlessly clean. I love India and the culture; and my tastes are not common. It is more rewarding to me to eat a plate of "whatsit" in a grass hut than to stay in a western 5 star hotel.
