Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Thailand

We visited the Tented Camp for 3 nights in July of 2007 on a mini-grand tour of Thailand and Cambodia for our honeymoon. It was definitely a highlight of the trip, we would highly recommend it. What we liked: - the tents are truly out of this world; as high expectations as I have (and we have safaried in Kenya... more

We stayed two nights at this hotel after being in busy chiang mai- it was a relaxing luxury break. We had been dropped off at the hotel after doing a 'golden triangle tour' (which started in chiang mai)- this was good way to transfer! The grounds and swimming pool were gorgeous. The bedroom (deluxe) was perfect- very modern and spacious... more

It's difficult to find a better resort than the Legend in Chiang Rai ! Everything is perfect and you really feel the real Thailand, not like the the big hotels in Phuket ! The North of Thailand is the best place to go if you want to know what the country is : not too many tourists, very good and... more

Morning Dew Lodge

Wow! Incredible! Delightful! Marvelous! Absolutely divine! What a find! Morning Dew Lodge, on the moat, in Chiang Rai. Is at the top of my list as a unique place to stay. Clean! Free coffee and chocolate 24/7. With balconies big enough to sit on and say hello to the sunrise or goodbye to the sunset. Located in the better part... more

I visit Chiang Rai often, and am in search of a place where I can stay longterm. Baan Bua is not that place for me because it doesn't have a place for my hammock, but for travelers who need a safe, quiet, comfortable and welcoming guesthouse for their base while they explore the beautiful Chiang Rai area, it's really ideal.... more

Naga Hill Resort

I'm surprised to see not-so-happy reviews here, so I'm writing one to give another picture of my favorite place, Naga Hill. Chiang Rai has some funky guesthouses, and some uber-expensive resorts, but Naga Hill is in a category of its own. Located about 20 minutes from the center of CR, and only about 10 minutes from the airport, you turn... more

From the moment we were met at the airport to the moment they guided us through airport check-in at the completion of our trip, we knew we found a special place. Greeting us after baggage claim was our friendly driver, and right outside the glass doors awaited our new Land Rover LR3, tactfully marked with a subtle Four Seasons logo.... more

The Mantrini Boutique Resort

The Mantrini is a new mid-sized hotel in Chiang Rai, which opened up a few months ago. The art gallery is not yet open, but it looks like it will be a very nice space. The hotel lobby is spacious and furnished in a modern contemporary style. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. For example, the hotel... more

The Legend Chiang Rai

Been at Legend for 2 nights during my honeymoon in August 2007. It was just amazing. The apartment was great, with a full room dedicated to the thai shower, a nice balcony with a table and 2 chairs with a view on the gardens of the resort which are really fantastic. The best thing of the hotel is the feeling... more

This was a pretty bad hotel, especially for my price of 3700 baht. For this price in Thailand, you should be getting something excellent. Here, you get a nice lobby, view, and pool. As for everything else, it was terrible. First of all, for 3700 baht, having to pay for internet and breakfast is pretty ridiculous. They boast having the... more

Just returned from a weekend trip to Chiang Rai with a bunch of golfing friends. The hotel is excellent - a tranquil location, a short drive away from Chiang Rai airport and enjoying superb view of the river and adjacent paddy fields. The rooms are exceptionally well appointed and it can be seen that a great deal of care and... more

We stayed 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. This hotel is hands down the best in the area as we could actually see both Laos and Burma from our lovely top floor balcony. Very pleasant views of the 2 rivers, watching slow boats cross the triangle on the way to China. This is the only hotel with such a view.... more

I don't think it is possible for me to write a review that would reflect how I feel about the Four Seasons Tented Camp! It was one of the most unique and best experiences that I have ever had! Guests arrive by boat. And what an arrival it is!!! Guests are greeted at the boat house and taken to the... more

It has been less than a month since we stayed at the Four Seasons Golden Triangle, but we are sure that we’ll never forget the five days we enjoyed there. To start with, this is the first review that we write at Tripadvisor. We have read a lot of them during the last years, but we had never decided to... more

Booked this hotel after reading reviews, but the reviews fail to mention that there is a huge disco/nightclub next door to the Mantrini. It is very loud and the noise cannot be drowned out by double glazing. Hotel did move us further away from disco but still too loud to sleep. It goes on until 2am during the week it... more

This was our second stay this year in the dusit. This hotel is very well priced and in a great location to get into the town (about 10 mins walk) or for river trips. What we really like about this hotel is the service and the ease of use. The hotel has 3 resurants and a bar. the pool is... more

The Phowadol was an excellent place to stay. The rooms and scenery are awesome, one of a kind. The beds were so comfy and there is plenty of space to chill out in or right outside the room. The food is okay, they try to comfort Western travelers. The place is very mellow, I think it's ideal for honeymooners or... more
