This place was pretty dumpy, but it was the nicest place in town and only cost $30 US. We only stayed 1 night so it served the purpose, The area is beautiful and we had a great trip driving the Mae Hong Son loop. I highly recommend it. We loved this part of the country. We travelled around Thailand with the excellent Explore company and after two days and nights near the Burmese border trekking through very wet jungle and staying in hill tribe accommodation, this place was exactly what we all needed. Probably 'fancier' than what you'd expect for a massage place in Mae Hong Son, but very friendly people and wonderful massages in a really pleasant backyard garden space. Cheap, too! more

Baan Krating is a very nice place for to relax, very friendly staff, good food. The rooms have beautiful decorations, the bathroom is clean (no bathtube, shower only) and you have a nice view from the balcony in front of the room. The staff was busy for to improve the gardens. Sure that we will stay more at this resort. more

This was a magnificent piece of serenity in a beautiful part of the world. Rooms were great with the open air showers a feature. Staff were extremely helpful and the quality of the food from the restaurant was first class. All this and only 5 minutes walk from the town centre. more

Mae Hong Son is a a small town, and this is the best place to stay in Mae Hong Son. That being said, if you are expecting extreme luxury, you may be disappointed. It's a nice resort. If you have the time, I highly recommend a visit to Mae Hong Son, which is about a day's drive from Chiang Mai with the lovely little town of Pai in between. more
