good place to stay.. we found the restrictions regarding alcohol a bit over the top. We do not mind people having their beliefs.but to inflict them on other people is hard to cop {particularly when the whole family is puffing away constantly on STRONG cigarettes] To make it more difficult to understand, is the fact that they rely SO MUCH... more

This hotel is just off Safranbolu's main square, in a lovely Ottoman house (OK, there's no shortage of lovely Ottoman houses in Safranbolu). It's selling points are 1] its tastefully decorated interior, with thick Turkish carpets above ground floor level (you leave your shoes in a rack on the ground floor) and traditionally decorated rooms, but with all mod cons... more

We booked a room at Camlica Konagi based on its charming website and the wonderful reviews. They asked for 90 TL for a triple room, which seemed high, considering how far the place was from Safranbolu's city center. However, when we arrived, we learned that none of the rooms had a private bath and all the guests on each floor... more
