The Sandy Beach Resort is a typical state-run hotel. Poorly trained and complacent staff, Soviet-style architecture, ugly furniture, windows in the rooms don't open, difficult to actually get to the beach, lobby lights turned off during the day to save electricity...etc, etc. For all of this they claim it is a "Four Star" standard. Well located, clean, and well managed mid-range hotel. Have stayed here quite a few times on extended visits and always happy with the rooms and service. The rooms are clean, well serviced, and breakfast included in restaurant on top floor with views over the city. more
