This is the newer of the two Okayama station Toyoko Inns. It's a touch more expensive (but still very cheap) and slightly closer to the train station; just a five minute walk and easy to spot if you exit right after the Shinkansen gates. The location of this hotel is impeccable, only 5 minutes walk to the major attractions - the Castle, the Garden and the river. Helpful staff and all speak some English. While we stayed in Okayama we ate in this restaurant twice. Real tasty burgers, the best I have eaten in a while, both in Japan and outside it. and it is really cheap as well. more
