Stayed with family for two nights in December, booking the family suite. The hotel is reasonably old-(fashioned), but has what appears to be refurbished lobby areas, Garden Terrace restaurant and pool area. Rooms are set in a large U around the pool area, and you either have pool-facing or rear-(garden) facing rooms. There are a few very lucky rooms with... more
We were suppoesed to stay at clubmed cherating but had to switch to Swiss Hotal resorts and spa in the last minutes as Clubmed was having a private company function and no outsiders were allowed during the period we were staying. We booked a family suite and when we got to our room we were shocked at how small our... more
I had terrible experience, when we went back from our dinner at 8.30pm we were very surprised find someone in our room n he's in the bathroom pretending change towels but we didn't hv any used towels so he took out the clean towels. when I complained to the reception he said it was the procedure, is it really the... more
My colleagues and I were in Kuantan recently for work. Due to non-availability of lower priced hotels, we decided to stay here for 3 nights. Location-wise, it was <5min drive from town and <10mins from the beach, but we did not have time to visit the beach this occasion. As far as I know there were no supermarkets within walking... more
Not only you can find satay but there also other foods. You never regret when you visit this restaurant. more
Hyatt Kuantan is quite a beautiful property. When I stepped into the lobby, there was this awesome view of one of the hotel pools set against the mighty South China Sea. Check-in was a breeze and the reception staff was very friendly. We were staying in the "Club Sea View King" room on Level 3, which is the same floor... more
Upon arrival on Friday we wanted to get something to eat at the 24 hour restaurant and we could not even get cappuccino etc. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was appalling, we left the hotel at around 11am & by the time we got back our rooms were still not cleaned. The towels provided were very old and they could... more
excellent service and environment, also superb breakfast buffet more
There's always something special about eating just a few yards away from the sea, enjoying the views and breezes with your meal. Restoran Timur is almost on the edge of lovely Teluk Chempedak beach and serves food as good as the location. Seafood is a speciality and their sea bream steamed with lemon grass, ginger etc was absolutely delicious. We... more
This is my second visit to Kuantan, but my first stay in a hotel. We chose Swiss Garden because of the good reviews. As usual, I'll cut it into 2 main categories: Pros: Very clean & spacious Lovely beach - very private! Near lekor/snack/fruit/salted fish stalls/shops & also yummy seafood restaurants (Pak Su & Beserah restaurants which in my opinion... more

I had been apprehensive looking at photos of the hotel because it looked so old fashioned. I was pleasantly surprised. Most of the hotel has been refurbished recently and the staff informed me that the Garden View rooms will be undergoing refurbishment soon. The lobby and coffee terrace have a modern and yet cozy feel. Even the pool has been... more
I was here about 5 years ago and wasn't too impressed with this resort. But after reading the recent reviews, I decided to give them another chance and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel lobby was upgraded. The buffet restaurant was great. The rooms were new. Unfortunately, the trees have grown and the sea-view rooms have become tree-view rooms. Perhaps they... more
We read all the good and bad reviews about Hyatt Regency Kuantan and decided to drive up from Singapore with an open mind. It was a family vacation and we had our son, 11 and daughter, 6, with us. The good stuff... - we had a Sea View Room and the view is great. Just an open ocean with no... more
Great resort hotel on the South China Sea. Three restaurants (including a BBQ grill on the beach), pool bar, beach bar (salvaged refugee sampan that ran aground in 1979) and nightclub with the best house band I have heard in a resort hotel. Staff are friendly courteous and attentive. 4th time I have stayed there. more
We got "seaview" rooms, but no view of the sea as it was blocked by the coconut trees! Also, apparently they refurbished the rooms with new furniture etc, so it did looked new, but I thought the housekeeping could improve. The floor was dirty (like it wasn't mopped) and there was dirt markings on the back of the chairs. Toilets... more
My family holiday was not memorable and enjoyful at all when we stayed in this so called 4 star resort Impiana Cherating Resort. Me and my family members can assumed that this hotel had worst services and facilities ever. From the resort entrance looked spooky and haunted look as if the place no one stayed and live. When we arrived... more
Long flight from New Zealand but fantastic once you arrive. Feels like you've arrived in a tropical paradise with really friendly staff, great facilities and superb food. Our 11 and 13 year old daughters were fully entertained with new friends and joining in organised activities such as the trapeze course whenever they wanted. The GOs really put their heart and... more
I traded a timeshare week for this hotel, so I'm not sure on the 'value' if paying cash. The lobby area was very nice, staff were all fantastic and it was very good place overall. The room was ok/nice, but I did seem to have a few critters roaming around. :( I called and they came right up and sprayed,... more
