In keeping with the positive reviews, we were pleasantly surprised to find a sophisticated 6-course $19 pre-fixed Spanish-influenced tasting menu of seasonal treats waiting for us just a 5-minute and $1 dollar cab ride outside of Bocas town. We spent four days at Tesoro Escondido recently and had a wonderful experience. Whilst the lodge is only about 5 km out of town, the muddy roads do make it difficult to get to which means that the area has a wonderful remote feel to it and doesn't feel inundated with travellers!
