This hotel had the worst beds we had slept on throughout China. Rock hard was an understatement. The hotel was supposedly a four star but I would rate as a two. Xi'an, in spite of its history and tourist sights, is a bustling, modern, polluted Chinese city so the Sofitel made a luxurious refuge from what went on beyond the fenced off Renmin Square. This hotel was superb. We had been booked into a Horizon Room and because of this when we arrived (at 9.45am) we were brought up to the Horizon Room to get checked in. Flawless!!!
