Akron in December is a bit of a ghost town, and the hotel was no exception (we didn't see any students as it's winter break, but I did notice a desk downstairs that had a college-age staff member, maybe a dorm front desk?). Would *not* have appreciated the students here, so it would be a very different story if school... more

Every year my family and I make the trip to Akron to enjoy the WGC Bridgestone Golf Tournament. We always stay at the Residence Inn. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. We'd been warned ahead of time by our friends that this place was sort of "stuck in time" and that the decor wasn't anything that would blow us away. We were also warned that they only take cash or checks. We were additionally assured that the quality of the steaks was what would carry the day, and we weren't disappointed.... more
