Having stayed in many other places in Rio, it's hard to criticize Mar Ipanema. It's not a fancy hotel, but the service is OK, the location is among the best in Rio and it's cheaper than many older hotels. The advantages/benefits of staying at this hotel are 1. Very close to Ipanema Beach just one block away 2. Safe location 3.
