We enjoyed our stay in Sol y Luna Lodge. The bungalows are well designed and include a kitchen, a jacuzzi and a back porch. Having the kitchen was very useful and probably saved us a lot of money since restaurants are expensive for every meal. We also enjoyed being at the pool at the hot times of the day. The... more
The on-line pictures are completely accurate. The beach really is that close. The hotel is well maintained and comfortable. The location is at the quiet end of the beach, with the town within walking distance. We would have stayed longer if we could have. more
Not a good place. Bad food and poorly managed. The white faced monkeys made my week. more
We traveled the entire pacific coast from south to north ending up at the Mangaby. While we were at some very upscale locations that were very nice, the Mangaby beats them in so many genuine ways. The staff was super, drove us to Coco beach because we needed some things from a pharmacy. Rooms were always neat and clean as... more
My friend and I decided in Feb 2009 that we wanted to spend New Years in Costa Rica. We knew nothing about the country and even less about where to stay and what to do. After reading through trip advisor reviews we selected and booked our stay at the Flamingo Beach Resort and Spa. We were a bit nervous once... more
We stayed our last two nights in Costa Rica at the Rip Jack and it was the perfect place to end our vacation, we liked the hotel so much we wished we would have stayed there longer. The owners at Rip Jack are excellent, you can really tell they take pride in their business and it definitely shows. The rooms... more
We loved our stay at Bula Bula, the staff and owners are so nice and made us feel so welcome! We stayed for Christmas and the place had a really nice Christmassy feel, we could have not picked a better place to stay! The rooms are really colourful and lovely and clean (bug free as well!) The pool is great!... more
Ate at the Coconutz Sports Bar and Eatery twice while in Costa Rica and the food was great! Not only the food, but being able to watch several different NFL Football games was fantastic. I'd recommend this Bar and Eatery to anyone traveling to Playas del Coco. You'll have a great time! more
the grounds were beautiful, the rooms are nicely appointed, and the pool and beach are both lovely. it's fine if you're looking for a quiet getaway for just lounging with your family (although there were a lot of families, so if you have a problem with kids, steer clear). some issues: the restaurant is so-so. the wifi in our room... more
I had a great vacation stay during Christmas with my family at Casita Escondida. My whole family slept comfortably, it was clean, and private. I will definitely return again on... more
My husband and I took our honeymoon in Costa Rica, while there we stumbled upon a cool bar that was just what the night needed. We met a great deal of locals and tourist who all were looking for the same thing, people to chat with and have a good time!! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Coconutz and looking... more
Coconutz has it all! 10 TVs, pool tables, huge bar, all you can eat and it is right on the main strip of Playa Del Coco. Every Wednesday is movie night. We have watched all the movies and all the ball games here in Coco that we are missing in the states. My husband and I have spent 3 months... more
My husband and I had a fabulous time during our stay at The Hideaway Hotel. Every detail was tended to by Rosie and Doug and their staff. The location is perfectly placed far enough away from the busy little surf town of Samara yet close enough to walk to, if you wanted to. There is plenty to do if you... more
We had a great time and would go back. Our 2 teenagers were able to stay active in the pool and at the beach with volleyball, pellet rifle target shooting, water polo and enjoying the wildlife. The wildlife on the resort grounds include monkeys in the trees above the beach area, coati (Brazilian aardvarks), iguanas, fish (including several puffers). There... more
Coconutz is just that..NUTZ...Great food..Great music...Great fun !! What more could you ask for..Coconutz is a must stop for me whenever I'm in Costa Rica, which fortunate for me, is quite often...There is always a nice crowd. See you in March...Have that Top Shelf Margarita waiting !! more
This is a large, all-inclusive hotel right on the beach. The place isn't cozy -- there are probably several hundred guests here -- but the place is relaxing and its wonderful restaurants fabulous. You can even get room service as part of your all-inclusive deal. I wouldn't recommend this place for romantic honeymooners, but for those with families, this place... more
Wow, we ate at the restaurant and had a wonderful time! Terrific service, frosty Imperials, and wonderful Shrimp Tempura and amazing Sushi! Andrew and Tamara were awesome hosts and made us feel welcome. A World Class experience. You must eat there!!! more
We recently stayed at this hotel. I would reccomend it. The owner is quite laid back but also very accomodating. The rooms are very nice, good A/C, nice clean bathroom, lots of hot water, even a TV although no cable. The beach is down the hill about half a kilometre. They were in the middle of constructing a swimming pool... more
