Thanks to an e-mail advert from the hotel about their upcoming specials, we chose to stay at Southern Sun Newlands. My husband and son (age 25) and I travelled to Cape Town in March and stayed at the Southern Sun Hotel in Newlands. Most people who visit Cape Town opt to stay either in the city, the Harbour area or Sea Point.
