We found this place through VRBO. It's located in the heart of Capitola, a dense charming seaside village. Santa Cruz is very close by and Monterey is easily accessible. Shadowbrook is a lovely faux Arts and Crafts mansion and lavish gardens on the Soquel Creek. The architecture is extraordinary, though a bit fanciful for Arts and Crafts purists. The gardens are breathtaking. The food is solidly excellent (perfectly cooked steaks and fish) though not San Francisco gourmet (no port reduction and faux gras napoleons).
