The Elk Mountain lodge is my favorite place to stay in town when traveling to Crested Butte to ski. It's walking distance to the free mountain shuttle bus, all the restaurants and shopping. The lodge is historic, cozy and the staff is friendly and accommodating . more

We (two parents and two kids) spent two nights in a King + Murphy King room. It felt pretty roomy at ~440 square feet, and we took full advantage of the kitchenette features: good-sized fridgette, 1 burner stove, microwave (a toaster would be nice). Crested Butte has been a winter weekend destination for a friend and I for the last 3 years. What brought us the first year, was the free skiing at CB, what kept us coming was the Elk Mountain Lodge.
