I am going to write, a glowing review. The reason why? I like consistency. I think giving praise to a place that maintains a high standard of service, quality, and human interaction merits a few words. My partner and I just checked out this morning after having a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs (fresh from the chickens living on this... more
Amazing best chinese food you'll ever have! more
I was directed to the Cafe de Bankock by someone at my hotel. I'm glad they told me about the place. It is right off the main (Maine) road of Hallowell, which is called Water Street at that point.. However, it is not among the other shops and restaurants that make up "downtown" Hallowell. Going from Augusta, it is a... more
On a whim, I asked the front desk at my hotel where to eat dinner. She recommended the Liberal Cup in Hallowell. Well, let me tell you, I was blown away. The place was unbelievably busy (with all locals) and the atmosphere was quite nice. I got one of there own brews to drink and a Rueben sandwich. The beer... more
Decent food. Terrible service. more
Very enjoyable ambience and service. The food is a little overrated, but if you're a local, it's a great place to see people from the community. more
Nothing too fancy here, just really good sushi and Thai food. This is where we always go whenever we have a craving for either sushi or thai. A very reliable and consistant place for good sushi and thai! Recommended! more
Incredible food in downtown Hallowell! Very fresh ingredients and mostly known for their breakfast/brunch (which is all I've ever had here). From pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict, omlettes, and eggs, all these dishes have many varieties for each. Next door is their own bakery and it is delicious! The bakery supplies the restaurant as well as retail sales. Everything I've ever... more
Very good pub fare and great brews! A local favorite to hang out, featuring live music usually on summer weekend eveings. Everything is very flavorful (from what I've tried) including their cobb/chicken ceasar/cajun chicken ceasar salads, soups, fish&chips, burgers/sandwhiches/blackened blue chicken wrap to name a few. Food is not great, but very good and filling, and the beer...i recommend the... more
The best sushi in the area, with delicious pad thai and tom yum soup. Consistent good service. more
The bakery makes delicious cookies and quiches, while the restaurant has the best brunch in the area. My favorite is their cheese plate, as cheese plates are hard to come across in central maine! more
Great local pub and a favorite hang out. Delicious cobb salads and yummy mashed potatoes! more
This B&B is located in a small community outside of Augusta. It sits back from the main roads but signs make it easy to find. It's absolutely beautiful. The room I stayed in was rose pink and mint green, antique furniture, fireplace, balcony, bath salts, & bed very comfortable. The place was spotless. Plenty of parking space. Breakfast was great... more
I am a frequent business traveler to Augusta. Instead of the usual chain hotels, I started staying at Maple BB once a month for the past three months. This past trip, it snowed and the wind howled. I was up in "room number one" looking down over the front porch to the small pasture and barn nestled below. In the... more
We loved this Inn. Tom made us feel very special- even putting name cards in our door! (to identify our room). The service was excellent, and the hospitality superb. The inn is quite charming, and very clean. We definately plan to visit again. more
I was looking for an alternative to staying in a motel. Maple Hill Farm is a most pleasant departure from motels. The farm is country charm in action and provides excellent vistas. The rooms are not just cozy and inviting, but loaded with modern convenience, yet not losing their charm. Their are a living room, library, kitchen and a very... more
If you are looking for a charming, quaint, out of the way location to relax and sit on a porch and rock your cares away, well look no further than the Maple Hill Farm Bed & Breakfast and Conference Center located in Hallowell, just outside of Augusta, Maine. You can park your car under the new Portege' while you enter... more
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Maple Hill Farm. I was married in the area and had my reception at their Gathering Place. Scott and Vince are the owners and they went out of their way to make it a great evening. I won’t go into the details of the reception, but the space was beautiful, the food was terrific, and... more
