Sleep Inn & Suites Emmitsburg

We were very pleased to find that they had been able to accomodate our request for 3 rooms together. All rooms were as requested with king size beds. Nicely decorated. Staff on the front desk were very helpful. Even providing a menu for a restaurant that would delivery as we didn't feel like going out. Used the breakfast room for... more

My wife and I were going to Gettysburg for the weekend and had trouble finding an acceptable hotel with a vacancy. We widened our search to 10 miles and found this B&B. We are glad we did. The owners, Don and Marie, were wonderful hosts. The room we got had a comfortable king bed and private bath. It also had... more

While staying in Gettysburg, my wife and I had the wonderful experience in dining at the Carriage House inn. Everything was wonderful. Our server was very attentive and could not do enough to enhance our dining experience. The food was excellently prepared-delicious in every respect. We recommend the carrot cake for dessert. The prices are reasonable for the quality and... more

I telepohoned the owner of Stonehurst Inn to inquire about his rooms, (I was looking for lodging for my Aunt and Uncle and a friend of theirs) and I found the owner to be very unfriendly and unhelpful. I asked if I could drop by and view the available rooms for the date I had requested and he told me... more

I stayed at this hotel with my 7 yr old son, my cousin and her 7 yr old twins (boy & girl). We stayed here as most of the hotels closer to Ski Liberty were booked for President's Day Weekend. The hotel is fairly new and everything seemed new. We had a very nice suite with microwave, fridge, 2 full... more

We chose this hotel to get away from the crowds of Gettysburg. The kids loved the pool (I loved the available life vests for my non-swimming child). The front desk was extremely helpful in choosing restaurants. The room was quite clean. more

My boyfriend and I stayed over night in a standard non-smoking room with two double beds on our way up to Pennsylvania, and we were highly impressed. The management was far more than friendly, the room was clean and smelled fresh, and the lighting was very nice. The bathroom seemed slightly awkward; the doors didn't seem to lock and closed... more

This is a very peaceful place. It started to rain the day I was there, but that didn't diminish the wonderful experience of this beautiful and peaceful grotto. This is a great place to spend an hour in prayer and meditation, very refreshing for the mind, heart, and spirit. more

As Ski Patrollers at Ski Liberty, we stay at the Sleep Inn all winter long because it's convenient, clean and reasonably priced. The rooms are small but comfortable, although very dark and depressing (low-wattage light bulbs that seem to take 20 mins. to turn all the way on). Unless you like waking up to screaming kids when the indoor pool... more

The Sleep Inn in Emmitsburg is an excellent Motel. Close to Gettysburg, but away from the hectic tourist areas near the battlefield. The rooms are large, efficient and nicely air conditioned. The staff was very good and parking plentiful. I really had to think about suggesting an improvement, and all I came up with was that the breakfast coffee was... more

We were traveling from Florida to Gettysburg, PA when we came upon a road sign directing us to the National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes. My husband, our two best friends from Nebraska and myself drove up the narrow, winding road on the side of the mountain to a most peaceful, beautiful and spiritual location. We walked along the path where... more

Recently, I had business in the Emmitsburg, Maryland area. This bed and breakfast, The Stonehurst Inn, was not only charming, reasonably priced, roomy and very comfortable but also exemplified "service with a smile." The owner, Don Sanderson, provided truly delicious and ample breakfasts, taking my dietary needs into consideration. The room I had was beautifully appointed, as was the rest... more

Mount St. Mary's is a charming little liberal arts college in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains, themselves foothills of the Blue Mountains. Its handsome campus lies at the precise junction of a quaint farming area just south of Gettysburg, and the foothills themselves. A towering golden statue of the Virgin Mary overlooks the campus protectively. The students clearly are... more

This is an awesome spiritual place. I put together a web site with some highlights, but there is a lot more to the place than I could capture with my very cheap camera.http://209.158.24.7/~maesoph/national.htm more

The National Shrine Grotto in Emmitsburg, MD. was a real delight. It's a serene walk in the woods passed several statues, markers, shrines, etc. There are stations of the cross and many biblical sayings. There are benches where you can stop to pray or meditate. It's very low-keyed. Many carried water with them to enjoy along the way. There's a... more

The Sleep Inn is about 2 years old and located just off Rt. 140, a good location to be close to Gettysburg but in a private, rural type location. The hotel is spotless as are the rooms. My room had a refrigerator, an oversized shower, a coffee pot, iron and a safe for valuables. The beds are clean and very... more

Emmitsburg is a small town with an old fashioned Main Street. They barely have street lights and a trip up Main street will take you right back to Pennsylvania in a few minutes. The town has shops (and metered parking) but I didn't get to see the shops. I did get to have dinner at the Carriage House Inn which... more

The Carriage House Inn is one of the most consistant and best restaurants in the area. It always serves good quality with a flair. The atmosphere is quaint and relaxed.
