Traveller Reviews on West Yarmouth

Tidewater Inn

5 of 5 stars
Atlanta, GA
24 Aug 2008

The Tidewater Inn in West Yarmouth is a well-run Inn in the central part of Cape Cod. Nothing but the highest praise for the very helpful front-desk staff and the breakfast room servers! Rooms are very nice and clean; the price is very reasonable. Any visitor should be able to notice that everyone here is trying hard to make your... more

Town 'n Country Motor Lodge

We were there from August 13 to 17 2008. The beds we extremely comfortable and the air conditionning was very cold. We had a mini fridge with a tiny freezer (good for 4 ice packs). Tv was working fine. The grounds and pools were impeccable. There was a BBQ area in the shade which was nice. The location is very... more

If you like overpriced canned lobster on a hotdog roll, order the lobster roll. Stay away from any fish, they can't cook it right and serve it up half cooked. Friend of ours ate fish and had to vomit during the night. Fried clams like boiled elastic bands dipped in batter. People were lining up for this place when we... more

Tidewater Inn

We chose to spend 3 days on Cape Cod in between visits to New York and Boston but left it quite late to book and most hotels seemed to be full or too expensive. On arrival at the Tidewater Inn, the man on the desk was very helpful and polite. Our room was nice, large and clean with a fridge... more

Mariner Motor Lodge

20 Aug 2008

First let me say that when I've vacationed at the Cape I've typically stayed at the Mariner, single and now married. That's about 20 years now. We stayed here the last week in July for two nights. The place hasn't really changed since I started staying here. Typical updates to the TV and bath fixtures, but the furniture is pretty... more

If you enjoy watching 2 chickens run around the Zoo at Mock 5, this is where you need to go. These two chickens were running around the zoo for about 25 to 30 minutes zig zagging in between the guests making some people freak out and scream (that was my wife). It was better than going to the comedy club.... more

Tidewater Inn

Booked last minute and very helpful GM provided reasonable discounted room rate, despite the entire Mid-Cape being almost fully booked. Located a short walk from 2 mini-golfs and fine beaches, and 2 minute ride to Main St. in Hyannis, central location for shopping, restaurants, ferries, etc. Took a 2 x Double room in back building. The front is "drive up... more

Lobster Boat

We are in S Yarmouth for vacation. I agree w/all who said this is a tourist trap the the umpth degree. Our waiter, Dimitri, brought my salad AFTER the meal arrived, so I cancelled it (he said he thought I'd want it "with the meal" - I have never seen a restaurant do that?) my water constantly needed filling, I... more

Tidewater Inn

17 Aug 2008

Tidewater Inn was typical old- fashioned motel, which was what I was expecting. However, my room smelled so badly of mildew, I felt like I was suffocating all night long. The carpet needs to be tossed!! I couldn't have been more grossed out. more

We spent 4 nights in this Motel. We had 2 rooms. The rooms need a bit of renovation. The rooms and especially the bathrooms were not clean. We had to request towels every morning for 4 days as there were none provided. The (so called "clean") towels provided were dirty. We do not recommend this motel. more

Cape Cod Irish Village

Stayed at the main building in the Irish Village and could not have been happier. Short ride to the beach I recommend Seagull Beach, stores very close by also. Pirates Cove mini-golf just down the street(best course on Cape Cod). The meal package was great I had a nice lobster the night I had the dinner. My two night stay... more

We had a generally nice stay at this hotel. The bad- although we checked in on a Friday afternoon and requested a room near the pool, they gave us the room that was absolutely the farthest away from the pool. When I questioned this, the clerk made no attempt to find us a different room, just said "we're pretty full".... more

Howard Johnson Inn Cape Cod

I stayed at this hotel with my family and my sisters family recently and expected the worst after I read the reviews. The staff was very courteous, the rooms including the bathroom were immaculate. No bugs (only the ones you get when you leave your door open!) The hotel must of changed hands, because this seems like a family run... more

Castle Dawn Motel

We are thrifty hotelers and frequent travelers and were pleased to find this seemingly affordable option for a Cape Cod weekend getaway. The person from the hotel who took our reservation was prompt and deceivingly courteous. All was fine until we showed up for our first night when they said that they had no record of our reservation. Our confirmation... more

This was our second stay here with Grandchildren. Our Granddaughter says this is her favorite place to stay on the Cape. It is ideal having both indoor and outdoor pools along with a nice hot tub. The breakfast each morning was nicely done and more than adequate. Along with make it yourself waffles, there were pastries, several cereals, bagels, yogurt... more

This was recommended to us by some relatives. We previously stay at the red jacket resorts but were tired of paying so much money for staying at a mediocre resort on the beach. This is much more affordable than the red jacket resorts and a little newer. Although it is not on the beach, the public beaches you can drive... more

Yarmouth House

We make an annual August trek to the Cape. Until this year, the Yarmouth House was on our list of stops to make for a good meal. This year, we have removed it from our list. I had the Caesar Salad before my meal, and the romaine at the bottom of the salad was tough with browned edges. I had... more

This place is neither a zoo nor an aquarium. The second we pulled into the parking lot I turned to my husband ans asked, "What are the odds that THIS PLACE is WWF approved?" You walk in to this place and wish that the retro time machine would have delivered you to a roller rink instead. It looks like NO... more

We eat here every time we visit Cape Cod (at least ten years now) as it a comfortable and enjoyable place to eat. The clam chowder is superb and not salty as suggested in other posts. SInce we have family on the Cape we are very familiar with most of the best restaurants and this is one of our favorites.... more
