All you could hope for in a B & B. Lovely century old house, clean. beautifully decorated rooms, great location and extremely gracious host and hostess. They even post the breakfast menu and are more than willing to make changes to accomodate you. Don't miss Rosemary's fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies! It's only a short walk to Sunapee... more

We recently stayed a week at Sunapee Harbor Cottages in Sunapee New Hampshire. The cottages are darling and well kept. The draw back and the reason why we would never return has to do with the Innkeeper-Shelia. Our family travels a lot and we have never encountered such rude and inappropriate behavior by staff/owners. To start our vacation off each... more

I have been traveling for years and my recent stay at the Sunapee Harbor Cottages was the worst in my experience. To begin, the cottages are advertised as waterfront, but they are not on the water, you can barely see the water from the cottages, and if you do cross the street and a public park to get to the... more

The Twin doors is just a short walk to Sunapee Harbor so it was easily the most convenient of the other places we considered. The hosts were very gracious and made us feel comfortable from the start. The rooms had been recently renovated and were much more updated that most b&b's in the Northeast. They also served a wonderful breakfast... more

My husband and I just returned from a weekend at the Burkehaven and I have to stay it more than met my expectations. We had to attend a wedding for the entire weekend at a nearby inn,and we found the hotel both convenient in location and possessing all of the necessary amenities: 1. Clean bathroom (small) 2. Large comfotable KIng... more

First of all, I have never met ruder owners of ANY establishment in my life. Wretched, horrible, miserable people. To give just one example: They wrongfully accused us of smoking in the room. The owners left a note on the door when we returned which read "Do not smoke in the rooms, we could smell smoke and you will be... more

This is a lovingly maintained home offering visitors a choice of four immaculately clean rooms. You get the impression that inn keeper Rosemary, along with her husband, Hess, had kept notes over the years of what they liked and didn't like about various bed and breakfasts and created their ideal at Twin Doors. There is so much attention to detail... more

The only complaint we had was we couldn't stay another day. Rosemary and Hess are wonderfully accomdating without you feeling like you've put them out in some way. We had a wedding in Sunapee and we arrived at the Inn late. Rosemary ran up a much needed iron and board and finished checking us in so when we left the... more

The Twin Doors B&B is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The rooms are all exceptional. Each is tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed, an ample amount of pillows, TV & DVD, clean bathrooms, clean towels, & comfy bath robes. Each morning a delicious & filling homecooked breakfast is served. The host & hostess definately go out of their... more

My husband and I spent a weekend at Dexter's Inn and it was wonderful! One note up front - we were one of very few people in the B&B so that meant it was lovely and quiet. I imagine the peacefulness depends very much who else is there! The room we stayed in was very large with a private bathroom.... more

I am only writing to warn all you folks out there not to stay in this "lodge". the owner was out right rude and what I would call abusive. he did not allow our families to gather in the suite after we rented two other rooms to accommodate all of our families. He treated us like he was paying us... more

Of all the places I have stayed I have NEVER experienced such bad customer service. When I arrived I wanted to catch up with my friends in the "penthouse" or whatever you call it and I got turned away. I was shocked. I just wanted to talk with them and I would be back down. I understand 8 at all... more

We booked the Penthouse and a regular room. It is stated that only 8 people to the Penthouse, so we booked a 3rd room to accomodate everyone. The owner sat in the Lobby and counted every day who went up to the Penthouse. We were not allow to have visitors from our other rooms to come up to talk or... more

I wish I'd read the negative reviews before my recent stay because it would have saved my family and I a terrible weekend at this so-called "lodge" (calling this place a lodge is a huge exaggeration, it is a motel). I have never encountered a ruder owner and more terrible customer service in my life. It was absolutely shocking. This... more

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Burkehaven Lodge. We went to Sunapee to ski for a few days and picked the Burkehaven after some friends had suggested we try it. I am glad I did not read these reviews before we booked, because we may not have gone, and that would have been a big loss. The... more

Although the accomdodations were OK, the staff/management were very rude. I can see why they have had problems with guests(reviewers) in the past. I would not recommend this lodge to anyone! more

My boyfriend and I decided to go away for President's Day weekend to New Hampshire. We choose Mt. Sunapee as the boarding/skiing destination and after much searching decided on Blue Acorn Inn. The rates are great, the Inn Keepers are very kind and accommodating and the overall atmosphere feels very comfortable. The breakfast is all home made and delicious! Would... more

Innkeepers were very friendly and hospitable, offering excellent dinner suggestions Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh fruit, muffins, and french toast Location was great for skiers, only 5 minutes from Mount Sunapee Loved the sitting area upstairs, with tv/vcr, and a comfy couch! The inn was very clean and well-maintained. more

My family spent the weekend at Dexter's in January and had a wonderful time. We were on a ski weekend with friends as well and the inn was an excellent homebase for the group.
