The Fern Lodge was a wonderful retreat from our busy lives. The breakfast was amazing and Sharon was so accommodating to our every need. We enjoyed the lake located right on the property. Stayed here for one night en route from Montreal to Boston. Really nice rooms, we managed to peek at most of them. They are not as chintzy as they appear on the website and offer great comfort. We expected more for $275/night. While this B&B did have a nice setting on the lake and nice furnishings, it was the little details that got to us: dog hair on the breakfast napkins every morning, their child's toys strewn all around the lobby/great room, etc. I also strongly suspect that one of the breakfasts they served gave me food... more

A little too girly for me, but will recommend for those seeking quiet away from the mainstream. Menu here is not outstanding, but for the area is quite nice. Try the fishing on Friends Lake, some of the best in the Adirondacks. more
