As others have said, this is a lovely hotel. Huge lobby, always lots of places to sit around the fireplace or upstairs on the balcony. Nice piano playing in the evening. Excellent food and good service, everyone friendly. Rooms are adequate, quite small bathrooms though. Unfortunately, we were given two smoking rooms, even though I automatically book non smoking rooms.... more

Being there surrounded by the animals, and spending time (although in your car) outdoors, was just great. The gift shoppe was clean, the roads were well mainatined, and the animals were friendly. If you sign up with their website, you get coupons every so often. I recomend this attraction highly for a day trip. more

I have been to Montebello many times (10 or more)...always with my husband. It is only about an hour's drive from Ottawa so makes a great getaway spot. We enjoy the beautiful rustic atmosphere of the hotel especially the large stone fireplace in the centre of the hotel. It is a great place to sit and relax with a drink.... more
