Rose and Crown Hotel

This was a company event run at the Hotel and I must say, it did look good when I first booked in. The walk in from the old market place to the lounge area was quite welcoming. The reception staff were pretty good as well. This is where it stops. I must make a point of drawing a big thick... more

My first introduction to Elme Hall Hotel was whilst attending a business seminar there in August 2007, we were all pretty well impressed and I asked to have a look around with a view to planning a special romantic stay there with my partner, I viewed all the bedrooms but decided on the top suite for which there was a... more

We were sadly disappointed with our two night stay in this hotel, after checking in and going to our room, after a 3 hour journey we had hope they would have at least had the heating on to warm the room up, but instead was greeted with a very large freezing cold room with 3 very large draughty windows, the... more

I’ve stayed in this hotel twice. I chalk the first up to ignorance, the second to a combination of desperation and stupidity. The building and property seems like it has possibilities; but they are unexplored. Both the rooms I had were large, with a sitting area and good sized bathrooms. The first thing you notice it that these people have... more

Having read the previous review about wooden floors, we were attracted due my wife's allergy to dust and fluff from carpets. The bedroom floors were in fact polished hardwood and very clean and the rooms fresh smelling, completely absent of the usual stale smells from spillages in the carpets. We throughly enjoyed the feel of the Hotel with its lovely... more

My experience does not seem quite as bad as some of the other reviewers although I would not go back. Dated at best and scabby at worst. A shower over the corner bath was low pressure and scalding to freezing. Mould around the bath seal. Cigarette burn on the bed cover. An overall stuffy smell in the rooms and corridors.... more

We arrived to find that they were having a town-wide disco evening. It was so loud all night - even when they turned off the disco because loud drunken patrons poured out of the streets, into the square and hung about all night. And we were on the 4th floor. The bed was so bouncy that it was impossible to... more

Well, where do I start. I could go on for hours, but here goes. The first room we were given smelled like a stale ashtray, not a great start especially if you are a non-smoker. Needless to say we asked for another room immediately, and the 2nd room seemed just about acceptable so we agreed to stay the night. On... more

Great museum. Octavia Hill was a pioneering social reformer and the museum (also her birthplace) discusses her life and work. The kids loved the 'Victorian' cellar which showed the poor living conditions of people living at the time. Her ideas on housing and society are explained in an informative and light-hearted way. We all really loved the place and have... more

We stayed for one night at the Elme Hall Hotel having passed the impressive building and grounds several times on our recent travels to Norfolk and thinking it looked a nice place to stay. The website promised luxurious rooms. We were impressed by the hotel entrance hall, beautiful staircase and downstairs rooms. Our double room was certainly huge and clean... more

I was in Wisbech in the summer(year 2005)and I loved this town very much because it was small but so beautiful... I really miss back there. I liked Market Place and Park. Jack´s was interesting place too . I advise to visit Wisbech & Fenland museum, Peckover House & Gardens and the Castle too. more
