John Day is a small town but seemed to us the best option as a base for a 1 night stopover visiting the fossil beds etc. The Best Western is conveniently located in the centre of it. The Outpost Pizza, Pub and Grill

Went here and there was a half of any pizza day and that was well worth it! Good portions for the prices. more

I was on a trip to Eastern Oregon and booked online at this motel. The Fossil beds are about 30 min away and that was well worth the trip. The hotel is located near several restaurants which are literally only 1 block away. I would recommend the Outpost restaurant for dinner. The hotel breakfast buffet was sufficient enough. more
