We spent a wonderful weekend at the Edith Pearl inn. It is a beautiful old house decorated in the traditional old style. It is centrally located and only a short drive from the beaches. If you like farm fresh produce the house is directly across the street from the farm stand!! The host, Deborah makes an excellent breakfast with fresh... more
We have been going to Crowther's regularly for years. We have seen different management come and go since the Crowther's sold it several years ago. The "new" team running and working the restaurant is the best it's been. The atmosphere is a bit more upscale than it was but the restaurant still has a "out in the country" charm. We... more
My husband and I stayed at Edith Pearl for a weekend at the end of October. The main reason we chose this place was because it encouraged guests to bring their dogs (we have an 11 year old lab). I fully understand that a negative review could affect Deborah's business so I do not write this easily, but I feel... more
The Edith Pearl was perfect for our weekend getaway from Brooklyn! My family has spent summers in Little Compton since before I was born (since before my DAD was born!), and my husband and I were married there two years ago. So, this fall when we wanted to spend our anniversary back in LC, we needed a place to stay... more
The Edith Pearl is a one-of-a-kind B&B tucked away in a peaceful, beautiful and relatively unknown corner of coastal Rhode Island. The setting is a charmingly appointed historic home surrounded by fields, gardens and stone walls with distant views of the Sakonnet River and just a few miles down the road are ocean beaches and picturesque harbors. This is a... more
Friendly service, atypical creations beautifully prepared make for one delicious breakfast. Daily specials inspired by the chef's access to fresh seafood and produce ensure something new every time you go. Prices can be a little high but worth every penny. By all means try this place. On second thought, don't go. I want to be able to get a table! more
Crowther's is under new management and the changes are obvious. The menu contains old favorites and new dishes that are well worth the trip. The food is very good. The atmosphere and wait staff are excellent. The wine / beer selection has been upgraded. The Portobello stack is excellent, as is the calamari and the steaks! We eat here about... more
My husband and I were there a couple of years ago. Of the Rhode Island vinyards it was definately our favorite. We enjoyed the atmosphere around the architectually pleasing grotto bar, as we tasted a wonderful selection of wines and received personal attention from "the expert." It was a very romantic, educational and fun experience. Unfortunately, we had already had... more
thoght we would have a great dining experience. very bad. atmosphere and cleanliness is perfect, wait staff was perfect. our waitress was named marge, absolutely perfect and very friendly and professinal. the food was another problem. would not recommend this place to anyone, foodwise more
great little breakfast restaurant in the heart of adamsville little Compton R.i new specials everyday and everything is homemade even the orange juice . a while back they had a pulled bbq pork omelet while i wasn't sure about the mix it was the best breakfast omelet ive had in years. more
We rented the Loft Suite which was in the barn. It was a bit surreal. There were two dark bedrooms with two bathrooms attached to a conference room. The conference room had a beautiful view, but the furniture throughout the "suite" was old and worn. The barn is used for parties so there are tables and chairs set up on... more
Okay, I'm probably partial, but we went out to visit my mother-in-law, and she took us to Crowther's the first night out. The food was excellent - lots of local seafood, and my husband had his beef and loved it - the service was excellent, but most important to me, this was obviously a place that the locals loved and... more
I stayed here for three days in late July 2006. Because we were the first to arrive for the weekend, I got to look at every room in the Club because all the doors were open. At a glance they all looked lovely. Old fashioned with lovely discreet floral prints and white curtains. We stayed in the Pond Suite which... more
My wife and I stayed at the Harmony Home B&B the first week of August, 2005. It was in Little Compton, RI, a "rural" community by the sea. We had a great time and would recommend both the Harmony Home and visiting Little Compton for those who enjoy quiet getaways. The Harmony Home is a small B&B on Long Highway.... more
If you go on the town beach,( admittance fee is a little steep, )walk past the rocky shores to second stream ,there is a view that is spectacular, white sand and peace and quiet!Great country restaurant called Crowthers is open for dinner. (Reasonable prices). more
This is one of the most beautiful Inns I have ever visited. It is located in Little Compton, Rhode Island, about 50 minutes from Providence. There are no hotels or commercial establishments on Sakonnet Point where the Stone House is located--overlooking a pond with swans and the ocean. You have access to a private beach and the walks are beautiful.... more
