This was our first time in RI and our stay ai the Holiday Inn made it just that much better. The weather was in the 80's with bright sun, just like the people helping us at the hotel.....bright and cheery. We were lucky to have a gal named Kerrie help us with directions and suggestions on everything. The hotel was... more
We stayed here last week for two nights, paid aprox $130 night with AAA discount. We were lucky to get a room by the pool side. Good size King bed with sleep sofa and a work table, wireless interenet and cable. The restaurant on site was good, had dinner one night and lunch one day. Very close to Narraganset and... more
Awesome ice cream made right here in RI! more
The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Really nice people; good advertisement for RI and Rhode Islanders! Outdoor pool - free coffee in the lobby. It's a walk to get to the elevator from the lobby for anyone who has trouble walking and whose room is on the second or third floor; if... more
We booked this hotel via Priceline.com as we wanted a place to stay the night before the 4th of July. We weren't looking for anything fancy...just a clean hotel near the beach and we got just that. The hotel seemed newly renovated and the rooms were a great size. The beds are comfortable, but this Holiday Inn has yet to... more
We were looking for a hotel to stay for the night that was inexpensive but clean for a graduation party. Found this at a whopping $85 with the entertainment book/card. The front desk were so nice and helpful! We had first floor next to the pool of course we did not get to enjoy the pool since we were going... more
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this well kept B&B. Old style New England house with modern facilities and appropriate hospitality. The owner has three cute dogs. .......and the bedtime sherry in each bedroom doesn't hurt a bit. more
If you are going to URI, South County, Matunuck, the Rhode Island beaches, etc., this hotel has a great location and will prevent you from doing extra driving from Providence or Newport. I ran into no major problems with the stay; my room was clean and it pretty much met expectations for the price I paid. I wouldn't call this... more
Needed a place to lay my head one night near Newport, RI...this hotel is across the bridge from Newport and down Rt. 1 a bit, closer to the University of Rhode Island, so if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel to stay near Newport, this would be the one. All of the hotels closer to Newport are high... more
barking dogs emanating at all hours from the owners' residence, overwhelming musty odor everywhere , neglected, unwelcoming gardens which had been highlighted on their website, disappearing innkeepers (never saw perry viles once in the two days we were there), waiting over an hour for breakfast... what a complete waste of our time and money... we normally enjoy staying in this... more
Stayed here for 3 nights. The 2nd night the room simply had not been made up by the staff. At 0930pm, I advised the reception staff of two, asking to remedy the situation. They replied in a very unfriendly way, bluntly stating there was nobody around to make up rooms... This hotel is being operated for Holiday Inn by TPG... more
Beds were really uncomfortable windows in rooms don't open was promised a fridge but had none when I got there room had things left there from previous visitor an overall bad expierience more
We were traveling to Rhode Island for a wedding and choose to stay at the Holiday Inn where the groom had a block of rooms reserved. My husband and I were not expecting anything great - we just needed a place to sleep for a night. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the hotel and our room.... more
Remember staying there last March so details are foggy, but close to URI, went "off season" so it ws only about $70 a night, and they even asked what "snack" you would like left in your room for the evening! Clean and no problems.... more
We were checking out URI during our summer college tour and stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is doing a bit of outside updating and although the hotel looks like a construction site from the road we were never bothered by any of the work going on. The room was average and the staff fine. Nothing fancy just a... more
we have stayed at this Holiday Inn twice over the last 3 months and have found it perfectly fine for visiting the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, less than 10 minutes away. The hotel seems to have been renovated lately; rooms, including bathrooms, are clean and beds are comfortable. It is your "classic" Holiday Inn, nothing fancy but fine... more
My wife and I were primed to partake of a nice July 2005 weekend in New England, in what we thought would be a lovely inn. I had not found reviews of the inn, but it came recommended from a telephone call to the local tourism registry. The inn is within a 1/2 mile of the University of Rhode Island,... more
I last visited this Holiday Inn about 10 years ago and found it to be a bit shabby. But on my visit last week, the positive improvements I saw were quite dramatic. It is obvious when you walk in the door that the hotel has a quality management team that really cares. It is a Holiday Inn "grade" hotel, so... more
