nothing fancy but a good quality pizza. Price is reasonable with inside and screened porch. If you are on the island and just want a pizza you will enjoy it. more
It is an ok place to visit. The best part for our family was to watch them feed the gators. If you like looking at reptiles then you will enjoy it. Our daughter is 13 and she didn't have a great time and our son was 14 months at the time and there wasn't anything there that caught his attention... more
We were in Edisto back in June and ate at the Sea Cow twice. Once for breakfast and one for dinner. Both times we were completely happy with our meal. The service was excellent and so was the food. We are going back in a couple of days and I can't wait to get some Shrimp and Grits from there.... more
We went to the Sea Cow twice- once for lunch and again for breakfast. Their oyster po' boy I had was great- oysters were tender, sweet and delicious. My husband had a lowcountry stir fry (shrimp, potatoes, chicken, peppers, sausage) and it was quite delectable. Breakfast was corned beef hash & grits- both were excellent. The service was friendly and... more
My mother made reservations at The Plantation Grill for the night of her fiftieth birthday a week before our arrival at Edisto. The hostess my mother worked with on our reservation even had left her a birthday card on the hostess stand. We were almost immediately seated and ordered our drinks. Within five minutes our drinks arrived and we ordered... more
August 21, 2008 Salem, Virginia We were at Edisto when the remnants of Tropical Storm Fay came our way so we decided to travel out to Main's Market for a late lunch. Our friend's who have a time share on the island, who we spent the week with, visited the island for the first time last year and had gone... more
My family (15 in all) had dinner at the Waterfront on Aug 3. Though they don't take reservations, we were able to let them know a time when we would be arriving and they were prepared for us. The service was prompt and very friendly. The food was pretty good - fried seafood is fried seafood - and the portions... more
My wife and I ate a late breakfast at the Sea Cow on Aug 6, 2008. The service was good and friendly even thought the restaurant was packed. My omlette was very good and inlcuded locally grown produce. The only minor complaint was that the grits were too salty.... more
We own a timeshare with Wyndham and stayed at Ocean Ridge, it was great! The island is so laid back, I think it's what most of need today. There is no Super Walmart or McDonald's on every street corner, there is no commercialism at all and that's what made it great. The locals are super nice. My one and only... more
The Edisto Island Serpentarium is a great place for kids and anyone else who might like snakes, alligators or turtles. It was even fun for someone like me who doesn't usually enjoy that kind of thing. Make sure you catch one of the snake programs. Anne Clamp showed our group several snakes and taught us quite a bit in 30... more
We ate at the Waterfront Restaurant the first night of our vacation. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, but the weather was nice at they had a few benches outside. The funny thing about the name of the restaurant is that it really isn't near the beach at all. It isn't even located on the marsh.... more
The Plantation Grill was by FAR the best meal we had on the Island. I wish we had saved it for the last night of our trip. I had a steak and garlic mashed potatoes. It was the best meal I've had in a long time. They do have fine dining, but we just ate in the restaurant section. Men... more
The VIEW at the Pavilion Restaurant is wonderful! It is the only restaurant on the island where you can eat and look at the ocean at the same time. I would recommend going on the second night when you aren’t in a rush or even very hungry. Take a deep breath and be ready to wait. Expect that your drink... more
I felt a little like we were walking into a family reunion picnic at the fire hall, but it wasn’t our family so we had to pay for our meal. The place was packed but fortunately a booth opened up when we walked in. I felt a little awkward since it wasn’t very clear if you ate or paid first.... more
We had lunch at Main’s Market. Try the fried flounder and the tomato pie. Make sure you let them know as soon as you walk in that you are having the flounder. They will fry it up right then and it takes a few minutes. We thought the food was great. Don’t worry about paying until you finish eating. more
We ordered pizza one night to avoid getting dressed up for dinner. It was ok. Our pizza was a little dry. Maybe we should have asked for extra sauce on the side or garlic butter. I was surprised that it was a thin crust pizza since a previous reviewer said the pizza was too thick. Hey, it was pizza and... more
We traded our timeshare with RCI to stay at the Wyndham Ocean Ridge II. Our unit was located at Marsh Point II which is located near the marsh and a block or two from the beach at St. Helena Sound. Our one bedroom unit had a queen bed, full kitchen, living room, washer /dryer, and bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi... more
Po Pigs Bo B Q is a family favorite every year - we go twice during the week when we're there! The staff is absolutely wonderful and friendly! If you're looking for sweet tea, Po Pigs is the best! Every time we go, the place is absolutely packed - a testimony to their incredible food! The pork is out of... more
I agree completely with the reviewer about the $4.00 sharing charge. It also left a bad taste in our mouth after we were told that it would cost an extra $4.00 for me and my wife to share a seafood platter -&24.95. The decor is a bit el cheapo with the plastic tablecloth and platic cups. We probably will not... more
