Motel is not very old, in good quite location on hill away from highway 460, with view of mountain range from the back rooms. No Motel 8 sign at drive entrance. Later saw a small low "MOTEL" (what motel?) sign obstructed by the high grass. After driving 5 1/2 hours, wanted to check in just to change shoes to tour... more

We recently stayed at the Peaks of Otter Lodge during a stay to visit family. It was so beautiful to have a lake view with Sharp Top Mountain in the background. However, I must warn anyone with motion sickness to beware the road coming in to the lodge. We had to travel several Virginia Byways to get there, and by... more

The lodge is in a peaceful, lovely setting. It's a good place to stay when hiking in the area or when traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. The rooms are average and the pillows are hard and uncomfortable. We've stayed here twice before this time and the service is polite although not always efficient. The dining room has mediocre food but... more

My husband surprised me for our anniversary. We had just left from visiting family when he told me that we were going for a drive on the scenic Kelso Mill road. I thought that was nice since we were about to drive another 4 hours back to where we live. When he turned up the private road, I said "I... more

A friend and I stayed 1 night early June to hike Sharp Top. We decided to stay in June (rather than May) because someone at the Lodge gave us incorrect information. Aside from that, as other reviewers have said, the area is very scenic (buggy too), great hiking trails, the Lodge rooms are clean and quiet, comfortable beds, cinder block... more

A quaint and unpretentious B&B tucked away in the mountains of central Virginia run by a terrific hostess who's informed about local attractions, happenings and gossip. She knows how to cook a real breakfast and is warm and generous with her meals and her time. She made us a little late night snack complete with apple pie just because she... more

This is in a beautiful location at 2500 ft. elevation in the mountains with a view of Sharp Top Mountain. There is a lake on the property but it was unexpectedly totally drained when we stayed. The place is rustic and the rooms and bathrooms are somewhat dated. We were expecting a large common room with a wood fireplace burning.... more

Had stayed here previously when visiting this area and the place is sort of run down and the rooms smell funny, but it was cheap and the breakfast was decent. There is not a lot of choice in the area. The last (and I mean this was THE LAST) time we stayed here, the toilet was broken in the room.... more

We have eaten at the Millstone Tea Room at least half a dozen times and never have been disappointed. The staff are friendly and the food is outstanding and accessible. Menu changes frequently and includes many fresh local items. Brunch on weekends is also outstanding. more

We love this bed and breakfast. John and Ellen are great friends and innkeepers. We love to go to the Bed and Breakfast for a quick weekend getaway. They are always accommodating whenever we call. Ellen and John and the Inn are the best thing in Bedford. The view is spectacular and we always love to see how the goats... more

The Memorial is easily located on RT460 behind the Bedford Visitors Center and beautifully situated on a hill. I visited 2/08 on a very cold day. One of the unique features (I was told) is the fountain and use of water to represent landing on the beaches under fire. Unfortunately, they have to drain the water during the winter months... more

I'm not very picky or a big complainer, but this place was ridiculous! Checked in unloaded my luggage and key card didn't work. Went back to office and they assigned me another room. I realize it's only a Queen instead of a King that was reserved but I wasn't going back this time. Room a little musty and dingy but... more

My husband, daughters 16 and 11, and I stayed at the Inn from 12/27/07-12/31/07 and had a relaxing time. The Inn is VERY clean, spacious, and private. The Innkeepers, Ron and Kathleen, are wonderful people and made us feel at home. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. We spoke with 2 other guests while we were there. The first family was visiting... more

We chose the Otter's Den for our honey moon, and we could not of picked a better place. It was so convenient to the Peaks of Otter where we were married. The room was perfect. We stayed in the King room. The view was spectacular, and the private porch was so relaxing. The wonderful home cooked breakfast and the hospitality... more

Stayed overnight while driving along Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a main building which houses the restaurant, bar, lounge & shops. Accommodation in rustic two storey buildings all facing a beautiful lake. No tvs, no phones, cell phones don't work. It was so peaceful. We were on lower floor with a little terrace and then lawns and the lake. The... more

My husband and I picked Reba Farm Inn from the internet for a place to spend our first wedding anniversary. We found a weekend package including lodging, breakfast, dinner, and a horse ride. Our cottage was lovely, the food was superb, the owners answered all of our questions and made us feel welcome. Even when I was making the reservations,... more

Stopped for the night (no reservation), good rate, $55, room was OK, AC loud and didn't function great, one bed very comfy, other not, small bathroom w/ outside vanity, clean and comfortable, good continental breakfast, overall good value, would stay there again. Located on main highway w/ traffic noise, my room in rear area, very little noise of any kind. more

Although there were no big problems, I feel this motel is not up to the usual standards for a Days Inn. My room smelled very musty, probably due to no overflow in the bathtub causing water to run out onto the floor. The room was OK otherwise with a microwave & fridge, but the area around the pool could have... more

We made a reservation 3 nights prior to our arrival and requested specifically a quite room at the top floor. When we arrived to the motel we were amazed to discover that we were given the worst room in the house: the ultimate 2 AM walk-in room, first floor, facing 3 noisy vending and ice machines, and the lobby (TV... more
