I won't go into the whole story, but we went in with seven people with two on the way, on a night when no one was in the dining room and after 15 minutes they couldn't decide on how to seat us. We just returned from a long weekend in Northern Wisconsin. Celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. Many lakes in the Minocqua area, fall colors are peaking and it is just beautiful. We went to Chef Rene's on a Wed. evening to avoid the crowds. Other restaurant review websites rated this as a good place to get upscale food.
